We prioritize excellence, empathy, and collaboration, fostering a culture of kindness, respect, and learning while valuing diversity and the well-being of our employees, volunteers, patients, and families. **Status:** Relief/Casual (hourly, non-exempt) - less than 23 hours per week. Relief/Casual employees must offer a minimum of four shifts per month, including one night shift and one weekend shift. **Hours:** **Day Shift:** 7:00 AM-7:00 PM and **Night Shift:** 7:00 PM-7:00 AM. Additional shifts, including day, night, and weekend shifts, may be available. Available shifts are based on departmental needs and are subject to change; a fixed schedule is unavailable for this role. **Location:** Hospice House in Bend, Oregon. **Summary/Objective:** The Hospice House RN will identify patient/family/caregiver needs and provide nursing and supportive care in accordance with the plan of care, and policies and procedures. **Essential Functions:** - Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. - Apply nursing principles and techniques in the treatment of patients. Provide nursing care, emotional support, and education to the patient/family/ caregiver. Maintain strict confidentiality of patient, family and caregiver information. - Is responsible for the implementation and continued development of the patient care plan and physician's plan of treatment and is responsible for the case management of the patient. - Supervision of all Certified Nursing Assistants and Volunteers. - Follow the guidelines for universal precautions when providing patient care and demonstrate proper techniques in application of infection control standards. - Maintain records of services performed and of apparent condition of patient, using documentation guidelines and standards set forth by the facility. - Communicate with physicians and others as needed to coordinate and ensure high quality care. Communicate on a regular basis with all staff / volunteers regarding patient status. - Demonstrate a working knowledge of the dying process and recognizes the importance of and maintains professional boundaries. - Provide for a safe environment for patients, guests, visitors, and employees and adhere to all policies, procedures, and regulations regarding patient care, conduct, safety, fire, security, and risk management. - Participate in weeknight and weekend on-call duties as defined by the on-call policy. - Complies with all applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures. - Adheres to the PIC mission and values. Supports the organization. **Required Skills & Qualifications:** - Valid Oregon RN License. - Ability to pass a background test, drug screen, and TB test. - Graduate of an accredited nursing school. - One to two years of recent medical care experience in an institutional setting. Ideal candidates will possess 1-2 years of home health or hospice experience (preferred). - Valid CPR Certification. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team. - Compassion, empathy, and dedication to patient care. **Supervisory Responsibility:** This position is responsible for the co-supervision of Nursing Assistant(s) and Caregivers. **Work Environment:** - May be exposed to infections and contagious diseases.
