The Regulatory & Compliance Manager serves as the regulatory expert supporting both research & development and manufacturing operations. This individual will ensure all raw materials, formulations, finished products, and supporting documentation meet applicable regulatory requirements across global markets. This role works cross-functionally with Formulation, Quality, Purchasing, Manufacturing, and clients to proactively identify regulatory risks while supporting efficient product commercialization. ## Responsibilities - Review and approve raw material documentation including: - Technical Data Sheets - Safety Data Sheets (SDS) - Certificates of Analysis - Allergen documentation - Country-specific regulatory documentation - Evaluate ingredient compliance for US, EU, Canada, UK, Australia, ASEAN and other international markets - Review finished product formulas for regulatory compliance prior to commercialization - Assess ingredient restrictions, prohibited substances, concentration limits, and labeling requirements - Review and approve product claims from a regulatory perspective - Support INCI declarations and ingredient listings - Collaborate with clients on regulatory inquiries and documentation requests - Maintain regulatory databases and compliance documentation - Monitor evolving cosmetic regulations and communicate impacts to internal teams - Support product registrations where applicable - Partner closely with Quality Assurance during audits and client reviews - Assist with supplier qualification from a regulatory standpoint - Provide guidance to R&D during formulation development ## Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related scientific discipline - 5+ years of cosmetic regulatory experience - US Residency and citizenship is required - Strong understanding of FDA cosmetic regulations - Working knowledge of EU Cosmetics Regulation 1223/2009 - Familiarity with MoCRA requirements - Experience reviewing raw material documentation - Excellent organizational skills - Strong communication abilities - Ability to manage multiple client projects simultaneously
