The Labor and Delivery unit functions Bloomington Hospital, and consists of 12 inpatient beds, a 4-bed triage area, 2 Operating Room Suites, and a 3-bed recovery room. This unit provides inpatient and outpatient care coordinated by L&D RNs to serve the needs of antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum patients and their newborns. Our unit focuses on evidence-based care to ensure we are providing the best, most up to date care to our patients. Additional support is provided for patients and staff through the interdisciplinary team whose membership includes NICU, Adult ICU/PCU and respiratory therapy. **Nursing skills gained on this unit:** - You can obtain your OBRNC, and EFMRN certifications - Time management - Flexibility - Develop skills working as a circulator, assist PACU, Neonatal transition RN, Labor RN, & OBED RN **Unit Culture Highlights:** - Friendly environment - Amazing and high caliber team members dedicated to patient care - Strong cohesion under stressful situations **Qualifications** - Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred. - Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license. - Education: The Registered Nurse (RN) must have graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program. - *Exceptions: Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two years of acute care experience.
