Collaborates with other health care professionals to meet the needs of the patient. Responsible for adhering to CVMC/ departmental policies, procedures, and philosophy to deliver quality patient care, practicing within the guidelines of the North Carolina State Nurse Practice Act and abiding by the CVMC Nursing Bylaws. **Education & Credentials:** **Required** - Graduate of accredited nursing program. - Current NC RN license or licensure from Nursing Compact State. - BCLS certification. If the BCLS certification is not from the American Heart Association (AHA), an AHA certification is required within three months of employment date. - ACLS certification within three months of employment - Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certification within three months of employment and maintains annual re-certification. **Additional Requirements by Practice Area** The IRT Registered Nurse will float to the assigned units and take an independent assignment. Competency requirements will include all annual education and certifications required by each assigned individual unit to maintain competencies. Refer to the Registered Nurse Performance Expectations for each department’s additional requirements by Practice Area. **Preferred** BSN (BSN enrollment and completion requirements apply). Specialty course work and certification in multiple areas of practice **Work Experience:** **Required** One year RN experience or two years LPN experience Incumbent should be proficient in the basic aspects of the job and able to assume call responsibilities as required within three months of employment date. **Preferred** One year experience working in Critical Care.
