RN's specialize in providing highly skilled, complex care to surgical oncology patients on this unit. Nurses also serve ENT, Thoracic, Urology, Plastics, and General surgery patients. The patient population includes those that are critically ill and require ventilation, vasopressors, continuous dialysis, and therapeutic specialty beds. We are looking for someone who exhibits strong initiative, compassion, high integrity, and collaboration to join this high functioning team. IU Health University Hospital’s Hematology/Oncology Unit is a 28-bed unit specializing in Acute Leukemia, Lymphoma, Multiple Myeloma, Sarcomas, and Intestinal Cancers. The RN on this unit will be gain experience in the various aspects of caring for patients with cancer. **Shift:** **Night Shift Part Time** **Hospital:** **University Hospital** Nursing skills gained on this unit: - Chemotherapy administration - ONS Certification - End of life care - Time management skills - Prioritization of care - Patient and family education Qualifications: - Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred. - Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license. - Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program. - *Exceptions: Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two years of acute care experience. Such exceptions are subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).* - Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. - Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
