You will develop personalized care plans, provide education, and serve as a primary point of contact for families and healthcare providers. Strong communication, organizational skills, and a compassionate approach are essential to support patients and their families effectively. **Key Responsibilities:** - Coordinate care across all phases of treatment, including diagnosis, therapy, and survivorship - Offer education and emotional support tailored to hematology/oncology patients and their families - Assist providers and team members in outpatient clinics and treatment settings - Support outpatient procedures, including lab collections, medication administration, and specimen handling - Facilitate medication management and patient education - Support prior authorizations for medications and treatments - Prepare documentation and assist with patient charting for new and follow-up visits - Collect data, enter orders, and assist during high-volume clinic days - Participate in quality improvement initiatives and team meetings - Engage in daily huddles and organizational committees focused on patient care and process improvement **Qualifications:** - Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN). - Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred. - Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license. - Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program. - 3-5 years of experience preferred. - Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. - Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies. - Specialty certifications may be required per unit/department specialty in accordance with the department provision of care. - Requires knowledge of personal computers using various types of word processing and database software. - Requires clinical work experience, medical terminology. - Requires understanding of medical record requirements, regulations and policies. - Oncology experience is a plus but not required. ***This role offers a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on patients’ lives through compassionate care and expert guidance.*** ### About the Team Indiana University Health is Indiana’s most comprehensive health system, with 15 hospitals and nearly 40,000 team members serving Hoosiers across the state.
