Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) JobID: 597 Position Type: Student Services & Special Education/Registered Behavior Technician Date Posted: 7/7/2026 Location: Hampstead Central School Date Available: August 21, 2026 Closing Date: open until filled Additional Information: Show/Hide The Hampstead Central School is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to support students in developing positive behavioral, social, and academic skills. The RBT will work under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and collaborate closely with classroom teachers, special education staff, and support personnel to implement behavior intervention plans and promote student success in the least restrictive environment. Key Responsibilities Implement individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) as directed by the supervising BCBA Provide 1:1 or small group support to students with behavioral and developmental needs Collect accurate data on student behavior and progress toward goals Support students in developing communication, self-regulation, and social skills Assist in classroom routines, transitions, and academic engagement strategies Use evidence-based behavior strategies aligned with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Maintain professional communication with teachers, specialists, and families as appropriate Support crisis prevention and de-escalation strategies when needed, following district protocols Participate in team meetings, trainings, and ongoing professional development Qualifications Current Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification required Experience working with children in an educational or clinical setting is preferred Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team Strong communication, data collection, and organizational skills Calm, patient, and supportive approach with students Preferred Skills Experience in elementary school settings Training in Crisis Prevention Interventions Familiarity with special education processes and IEP implementation Experience supporting students with autism spectrum disorder or emotional/behavioral needs Completed applications require a cover letter of interest, one recommendation letter, and three professional references with contact information.
