Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)

What matters most is that you love working with kids, you’re dependable, and you’re ready to show up. Some roles do require an active certification, but if you’re not certified yet, we’ll help you find your path to getting there. Alpaca Health is a multi-state network of independent ABA therapists, working in homes, schools, and daycares. We hire certified RBTs and motivated people ready to become one. Either way, you’ll work alongside a dedicated BCBA who mentors you from day one, not a manager, not a corporate supervisor. Two ways to join Already an RBT - Active RBT certification - Start working and earning right away - Work with clients in your region - A path toward BCBA if you want it Not certified yet - A clear path to becoming an RBT, with a BCBA mentor from day one - Many practices in our network reimburse RBT training and pay you during hands-on learning, and we’ll help match you with the right fit - Support as you prepare for and sit for your certification exam The job You’ll work one-on-one with kids with autism in their homes, classrooms, and communities. Every day is different. You’ll follow a personalized plan from your BCBA, implement behavior strategies, collect data, and build the consistent relationships that help kids grow. Your BCBA is closely involved and reachable, so there’s no guessing and no flying solo. What’s in it for you: - $20–$27/hour, based on experience and location - Direct mentorship from a dedicated BCBA, not managers or a corporate chain of command - Full-time or part-time (some flexibility across mornings, afternoons, and evenings is needed to meet client needs; not sure if a schedule fits? Just ask, we have many) - Career growth support, including a path toward BCBA certification - Depending on the practice: training reimbursement and paid hands-on learning for those earning their certification You’re a good fit if you: - Genuinely enjoy working with children, especially kids who need extra patience and creativity - Have an active RBT certification, or the drive to earn one - Have reliable availability across mornings, afternoons, or evenings, since our clients count on consistency - Come from education, childcare, psychology, social work, or any role where you showed up for kids - Have reliable transportation to reach client homes and schools - Can keep up physically, getting on the floor, moving around, staying active (able to lift ~50 lbs) - Are at least 18, have a high school diploma or equivalent, and can pass a background check Why Alpaca Health We’re not a big clinic chain.
