## Description | Job Title: | Recycling Collector | | --- | --- | | Department: | Recycling | | Reports To: | Recycling Manager | | Status: | Seasonal | | Age: | 16 years of age or older | | **SUMMARY** | | --- | The primary purpose of a Recycling collector is to help keep our park clean, tidy, and guest ready. This is a seasonal position, reporting to the Recycling Manager. Park’s operational summer hours are typically Sunday through Tuesday 12pm to 8pm and Wednesday through Saturday 12pm to 9pm. During the parks season, evening and weekend hours are required. | **RESPONSIBILITIES** | | --- | - Sort and wash excessively dirty materials - Compact and bind recycling materials to be delivered or sent to a recycling center - Clean and keep collection barrels, containers, work area and equipment in working condition - Exchange entrance carpets at Gift Shops - Deliver cases of park maps, park brochures and campground brochures to areas as needed - Assist in tasks and duties of the warehouse and distribution department - Ensure proper vehicle maintenance including oil, fuel and cleaning - Remain cooperative and in communication with department managers thru out the park - Perform cleaning duties at workstation to maintain a clean and safe work environment - Ability to drive cart thru the park safely to collect recyclables or trash at various locations | **KEY COMPETENCIES** | | --- | - Candidate should possess strong communication skills, high degree of integrity, positive attitude, attention to detail and the ability to solve problems - Candidate must have a current valid driver’s license - Candidate should have the ability to build strong relationships with guests, provide a high level of guest service, and be an effective member of a team - Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy - Strong customer service skills, both internal and externall - Maintain a positive attitude - Exceptional communication skills while relating to people in a friendly, professional manner - Self-motivated; acts without needing directions - Perform cleaning duties as needed to maintain a clean, safe work environment ***This job description describes the general nature of the duties and requirements of this job.
