The Town of Erie’s Recreation Division is looking for a dynamic Recreation Coordinator to oversee a diverse portfolio of youth and teen programming, including state-licensed camps, teen leadership and advisory programs, and climbing wall operations. - *While this position provides oversight of multiple program areas, the primary focus of the role is the successful oversight of our Camp Erie program, with duties related to camp comprising more than 70% of the position’s responsibilities.* This coordinator is responsible for planning, administering, maintaining, and supervising comprehensive recreation programs while providing leadership to staff, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting exceptional participant experiences. In addition, the Coordinator will provide leadership and oversight on schedules, events, projects, goals and programming. ## **Duties and Responsibilities** ### **Coordinating Duties** - Plan, research, implement, schedule, supervise, evaluate, manage and promote various state-licensed camps, climbing wall and teen programs - Train camp staff to compliance with state licensing - Communicate extensively with participants, staff, co-workers, supervisors, volunteers, vendors and contractors to ensure smooth program operations - Conduct program evaluations, analyze results, make recommendations and implement changes as needed - Review, schedule, collect payment and approve general interest program requests and monitor facility usage to avoid conflicts - Develop content for and operate registration and program-area specific software to meet organizational needs - Create, maintain, and train users and staff on program-area specific standard operating procedures and modify when necessary - Analyze industry trends and changing community needs to continually provide high-quality programs and services - Make program-specific operational purchases.
