Medical Receptionist / Patient Advocate – PART-TIME – TUES thru SAT Part-Time Hours available at Hartford GYN Center, a state licensed family planning clinic located In Bloomington, CT has specialized in high quality gynecology and abortion care for over 40 years. We are active members of the Abortion Care Network and accredited by the National Abortion Federation. Responsibilities include (Experience in one or more preferred): • Performing patient check-in • Meeting with patients to collect payments, dealing with all insurance and payment issues and working with outside organizations to secure funding for patients • Reconciling deposits and completing all required tracking paperwork Our team welcomes committed, experienced individuals with a strong work ethic, sense of humor and a desire to be a part of a team. The right candidates also have a strong commitment to the full range of reproductive health care, the desire to advocate for all our patients in a friendly, professional and compassionate manner and to provide accurate information in an empathetic, non-judgmental manner. The ideal candidate has: • Effective verbal and written communication skills • Strong computer skills (Electronic Health Record experience a plus!) • Previous cash-handling / bookkeeping / medical office billing experience • Ability to multitask, strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills • Bilingual Spanish/English candidates encouraged, other languages considered. Staff members who speak more than one language interpret for non-English speaking patients and their loved ones throughout their experience. New graduates are welcome to apply, some patient care / customer service experience is required Part-Time hours Tuesday through Saturday – no nights – no holidays – no call Benefits: $17-$21 per hour, 401k with employer match.
