With more than 100 years of business experience, Hooker Furnishings Corporation is a designer, marketer, and importer of case goods, leather furniture, and fabric-upholstered furniture serving the residential, hospitality, and contract markets. **Position Summary:** The Receiver / CDL Driver is responsible for supporting shipping, receiving, inventory control, and material movement within the plant while also serving as a Class A CDL driver as business needs require. This position is primarily trailer movement, with warehouse- and plant-based duties performed during downtime. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, a commitment to safety and compliance, and the flexibility to support both transportation needs and warehouse operations. **Essential Duties and** **Responsibilities** - Operate a Class A CDL truck for local deliveries, vendor transfers, and trailer movement within Virginia as needed. - Conduct daily vehicle inspections and promptly report mechanical, safety, or maintenance concerns. - Properly secure loads and comply with all applicable DOT regulations, company policies, and safe driving practices. - Maintain accurate driving logs, delivery receipts, inspection reports, and other required records. - Communicate professionally and effectively with supervisors, warehouse personnel, vendors, and other employees. - Report delays, accidents, damages, shortages, or other operational issues in a timely manner. - Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials against schedules, and other required documentation. - Support warehouse and receiving activities when not performing driving duties, including put-away, staging, organizing, and movement of materials. - Maintain accurate inventory records, receiving documentation, and related paperwork. - Scan materials in and out of inventory using company scanning equipment. - Operate hand pallet jacks, electric pallet jacks, forklift and other approved material-handling equipment in a safe and responsible manner. - Assist with loading and unloading furniture, parts, and materials while taking appropriate care to prevent damage. - Follow all safety and PPE requirements and maintain a clean, organized work area. **Required** **Qualifications:** - Valid Class A CDL in good standing. - Minimum of 2 years of commercial driving experience is preferred. - Strong understanding of DOT regulations and demonstrated commitment to compliance. - Warehouse, receiving, inventory, or material-handling experience preferred. - Ability to lift 50-100 lbs. and safely perform physical work in a warehouse environment. - Strong attention to detail, dependability, communication skills, and willingness to support warehouse operations when not driving. **Why Join Hooker Furnishings?** - Competitive compensation. - Opportunity to work for a successful and stable organization with more than 100 years in business. - Multinational, global organization with 12 locations in the United States and offices in Vietnam and China. - Caring, family-focused culture. - A work environment that encourages forward thinking, teamwork, and creative problem-solving. - Emphasis on charitable giving and volunteering in our communities. - Focus on ESG: Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance. **Shift:** Day shift.
