Raw Materials Specialist

With a sound financial structure and a strong balance sheet that fuels continuous investments in its assets, Twin Rivers Paper offers its customers the security of local product availability through a strong, domestically owned manufacturer and the assurance of long-term viability. **Position Summary** Reporting to the Sourcing Manager - Chemicals, the Raw Materials Specialist manages all phases of the purchasing operation of raw materials for Twin Rivers Paper Company. **Key Responsibilities** - Actively supports and promotes safe work practices throughout the mill by being present at safety activities and personally encouraging safe behaviors. - Keeps abreast of modern purchasing practices and techniques and directs staff in the development of modern purchasing and inventory management techniques. - Assist with contracts and purchase agreements. - Manages bulk raw material inventories and orders accordingly. - Manages material flow to ensure inventory is maintained at the optimum level to support on time customer deliveries while keeping inventory holdings at the appropriate levels. - Actively participate in month end closing as well as yearend. - Coordinate with transportation department for pick-ups. - Responsible for IQ Invoicing and verifying accurate billing. - Communicate with operators in the color prep and beater rooms. - Helps with the development of the annual budget, tracks performance, identify and implement opportunities to improve cost performance. - Attends and supports the daily mill production meeting and participates in other meetings such as safety, contractor performance, business review, project scheduling, budget review and staff meetings as required. - Shall have responsibility to report problems with the food safety management system to identified person(s). - Shall have an awareness of the Food Safety Policy, GMP’s, HACCP principles and Food Safety Standard. **Required Qualifications** - College degree, preferably in Chemical Engineering or related field - Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Procurement or paper mill operations. - Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Outlook. **Key Competencies** - Actively supports and promotes safe work practices. - Ability to communicate and listen effectively. - Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal relationship skills. - Must possess strong attention to detail and have good time management skills. - Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs.
