Rail Laborer - Prep

This is an entry-level position, but there is no need to stop there; within Autoport, there is ample opportunity for growth, with tenured employees of 20+ years. *If you are a reliable team player who thrives off the high of a 'good day's work', this is the position for you!* Responsibilities - Climb up and down railcar ladders while maintaining three points of contact - Open and close railcar doors before and after loading - Install and remove bridge plates (50 lbs) and maintain proper storage after use - Clean out railcar debris using a blower as required - Follow required AAR pre-trip procedures and Autoport safety guidelines - Work safely at heights of up to 15 feet Benefits - Unionized position (Teamsters Local 299) - Excellent Health and Dental coverage, with low premiums - Company contributions to pension plan, and access to a 401(k) plan - Paid personal/sick days - Paid vacation - Annual boot and clothing allowances - Steady work with overtime opportunities Qualifications and Requirements - Ability to push, pull, or carry up to 50lbs - Ability to stand, walk, climb, and work outdoors in all weather conditions - Able to adhere to quality and safety standards - Must be comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces. - High School Diploma or equivalent - Valid Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record About Autoport Limited: Chances are, we handled the car you drive today.
