Radiation Therapist

To perform the duties of a staff radiation therapist in the treatment units and the CT simulator units. To ensure the safe delivery of radiation treatment to patients as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist. Assist in teaching of the radiation therapy student in the field of radiation oncology technology. ### Responsibilities - Safe delivery of daily radiation treatment to patient as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist. Observe for changes in patients and report these changes immediately to the Radiation Oncologist. - Verify patient’s set up by taking initial and weekly portal films. - Keep an accurate treatment record, according to the policy and procedure of the University and department. - Record correct billing record for each patient, according to the AMA CPT-4 guidelines and department policy and procedure. - Performs related duties as required ### Qualifications - Required: - Education: Graduate of an accredited radiation therapy technology program or Associate of Science degree in Radiation Therapy. - Licensure/Certification: - ARRT (T) - doad - BLS - State license - Preferred: - Education: 3 years experience as a Radiation Therapist in a clinical setting ### About the Team Saint Francis Hospital-Memphis is a 479-bed full-service hospital located at 5959 Park Avenue in Memphis, TN.Offering a wide array of medical services, Saint Francis is noted for its many Centers of Excellence, including its Center for Surgical Weight Loss, Joint & Spine Center, Heart & Vascular Center, Chest Pain Emergency Center, and Surgical Services including its Center for Robotic Surgery, Diabetes Center, and Cancer Center.The hospital has been recognized for excellence of care by United Healthcare, CIGNA, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, and Aetna.
