Title: Quality Specialist Location: Bridgewater, NJ Company: Fortune 100 Food & Beverage Manufacturing (FuseGlobal has worked with this company for 20 years) Initial term: 12 months (position expected to run longer) Schedule: M-F 8am - 5pm About This Role: Guardian of Quality and Compliance by Design following the quality requirements and deliverables for Food Safety initiatives in raw material specifications (mainly RMPS and testing specifications) to full compliance to Quality, Food Safety and Regulatory requirements. This position is responsible for the creation and revision of raw material specification with focus on microbiology and chemical contaminants as well performing recipes risk assessment. Additional responsibilities are to support may be defined depending on resources and projects' needs. Promotes quality and food safety awareness. Contributes to competence development of quality professionals across the organization by providing training and awareness related to standards and quality processes. What You'll Do: Create and review raw materials specifications providing details for microbiology and chemical contaminants parameters. Perform Food Safety Assessments and develops pHACCP and rMMS new product/technology projects, including support to factories for implementation. Ensure Quality and Food Safety technical knowledge transfer to operations through engagement, training and handover of specifications and guidelines. Provide training to all functions which need to have an insight into quality and safety, and which need to implement quality and safety in their own job deliverables. Ensures full compliance to Standards and Regulatory requirements. Quality auditing and verification: Promote compliance with the Management System requirements and other applicable Standards. Support visits from regulatory bodies, such as FDA or USDA, and external certification bodies. Technical Assistance: Provide assistance to Quality functions in factories and Application Groups. Support preparation efforts to obtain ISO and NMS certifications. What You Bring: Academic Experience: Bacharel (Chemistry, Pharmacy, Biochemistry, Chemistry Engineer, Food Science or equivalent) Food Microbiology and/or toxicology background/ knowledge. Operational Experience: Experience in food industry in quality, R&D or manufacturing areas. Demonstrated Competence in their field to support business requirements: Team member in the quality department of a factory, PTC/R&D, Centre, NR, NQACs. HACCP team member. ISO 9001 and FSSC 22000 certification is preferred. Ingredient specifications. Experience with quality by design. Business Experience: Leading part of a change effort. Participating in audit teams and/or improvement projects. Establishing networks of peers, in markets or factories.
