The Quality Lab Technician’s role is to test all outgoing materials and generate reports, for customer shipments and for management review. Responsibilities: Operate all lab equipment and perform routine calibration and maintenance to ensure consistency and reproducibility of equipment (set up specs and testing parameters as required). Provide feedback to Manager regarding shift performance as well as the non-conformance report. Assist in conducting studies of new ingredients and compounds. Obtain test samples, prepare reports based on test results for shipping to customers, approve shipments based on specs, escalates quality issues in a timely manner, communicates to all involved if out of spec. Interact with compounders, technical staff, lab personnel, and production associates to ensure procedures and tests being performed are meeting requirements. Prioritize the workload within the lab. Process Ribbons on lab extruder as needed. Assist in training new lab employees on lab equipment. Is a safety advocate; leads by example by complying with all plant and Occupational Health and Safety policies. Additional duties as assigned.
