QUALITY ENGINEER I

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Includes the following along with other duties that may also be assigned. - First point of contact for customer. - Works independently or in a team environment on problem solving activities. Follows systematic problem-solving methodology: 5Why, 8D, and customer required forms etc. - Develops, installs and evaluates process sampling systems, procedures and statistical techniques. - Develops or specifies inspection and testing mechanisms and equipment. - Analyzes production and service limitations and standards. - Recommends revision of specifications as needed. - Formulates or helps formulate policies and procedures specific to quality function. - Must be available and willing to work overtime per day or per week as determined necessary to meet business needs. - Travel to customers or suppliers. - Currently trained and conducts training on department specific concepts, tools and testing equipment. - Quantifies quality costs and develops P.O. when applicable. - Interfaces with all other engineering components within the company and with customers and suppliers on quality specific issues. - Prepare PPAP's, FMEA’s, Control plans, 5P’s or 8 D’s (Responsible during launch, mass production and service.) - Performs quality audits - Daily reporting: internal activities: Quality Circle meeting, customer & plant issues, and customer driven reports
