It all adds up to a great place for families and businesses to call home. **Job Summary** Perform duties essential to operate and maintain the city’s utility operating systems, including preventive maintenance and repair of pumps and motor controls in the collection system, distribution system, water treatment plant, and water reclamation facility. **Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities** - Performs preventive maintenance on electric circuits and motor controls at treatment plants, lift stations, and pumping stations. - Repairs electric circuits, instrumentation and motor controls at treatment plants, lift stations, and pumping stations. - Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on various industrial equipment including pumps andmotors at treatment plants, lift stations, and pumping stations. - Repairs and maintains electric circuits on city property. - Ensures truck has adequate supplies. - Maintains assigned truck in proper working condition and ensures all work areas are clean and organized. - Complete required work orders; and - Perform such other related duties as may be assigned. - This role is a City safety sensitive or DOT role that will require random drug screening. **Required Qualifications** Education & Experience - High School Diploma, or its equivalent, plus one (1) year of experience in water and wastewater utility operation, maintenance, or construction - *or* any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Certification & License - Valid Texas Driver's License, with acceptable driving record. - Class B CDL or ability to obtain in 1year **Knowledge, Skills & Abilities** Knowledge of: - Basic first aid procedures. - Safe operating procedures of equipment used. - Safe operating procedures around electricity. Skills and Abilities: - Able to operate various handheld tools. - Able to apply safety standards to prevent hazards, understand and follow instructions. - Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with co-workers. - Skilled in the use of standard office equipment including copiers, ~~multi-line phone systems~~ and computers for basic word processing and data entry as well as highly technical computer systems related to the work being performed including radios, variable frequency drives, programmable logic controllers, and control panels. - Skilled in effectively working with the public in stressful situations. **Work Conditions** Physical Demand - This position must be able to be scheduled for on-call rotation to respond to emergencies and after-hour repair needs. - Able to sit for periods of time driving to various site locations - Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and drag and pull up to 100 lbs. - While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, ha…
