Develops and coordinates public health and programs in order to meet the needs of the public. Reports to the Director of Health. ***This is an ARP grant-funded position. (Funding for position is reliant on a grant and funded through December 31, 2026).*** **Education and Experience:** Master’s Degree in Community Health Education or Pubic Health with at least one (1) year experience. Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) preferred. **Qualifications:** Demonstrated knowledge of public health programs. Demonstrated knowledge of community health systems in relation to disease prevention and control. Proven ability to create and disseminate public health education materials. Demonstrated ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Proven ability to use innovative techniques to communicate health information to the public. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Proven ability to maintain confidential information and use discretion with sensitive information. Proven ability to maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, community health organizations, and the public. Proven ability to exercise professional judgment to solve problems. Proficiency in the operation of a personal computer and the use of software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Access. Ability to lift and carry (up to 25 pounds) equipment and supplies. Ability to attend meetings at various times and locations as assigned. **Duties and Responsibilities:** Participates in various activities and meetings to promote public health services to the public. Develops public health literatures such as manuals, pamphlets, teaching aids, and advertisements to promote wellness and safety. Works with the Public Information Officer (PIO) during emergency events to provide guidance on public emergencies. Facilitates both educational sessions on health hazards and emerging diseases and health screenings for the public and community organizations. Develops reports on public health programs. Assists staff with the revisions of the public health information for the department’s website. Assists with developing and organizing in-service training for staff and the public as needed. Supports Towns policies and philosophies. Performs related work as required. ***All positions may be subject to an interview process.******The Town reserves the right to limit the number of qualified candidates who will be invited to participate in the examination, or any part thereof.******All outside candidates will be required to undertake and successfully pass a pre-employment medical examination, which includes a substance abuse screening test, given at the Town's expense prior to employment if conditionally offered a part time, full time or safety sensitive position. The Town of Greenwich has implemented a policy of background investigations all full and part time positions prior to hiring as part of the reference checking procedures for outside candidates. The investigation will only be conducted as the last step prior to an offer. Refusal to sign the release form will terminate the candidate's further consideration.***
