**LinkTech** is hiring immediately for a full-time Project Tech – Low Voltage Cabling position. We are looking for a dependable, hands-on technician with experience in the low voltage trade to support commercial cabling projects, including LIV properties throughout South Dakota. This position is responsible for installing, terminating, labeling, testing, and troubleshooting low voltage cabling and related system components while maintaining quality workmanship, jobsite safety, and professional communication with customers and team members. Position Overview **Job Title:** Project Tech – Low Voltage Cabling **Employment Type**: Full-time **Pay:** Starting at $25 per hour **Department:** Construction Services / Low Voltage Division **Reports To**: Senior Project Lead & Project Manager What You’ll Do • Install structured cabling systems including copper and fiber optic cable in accordance with project requirements and company standards. • Pull, route, support, dress, and secure cable through conduits, cable tray, J-hooks, ceilings, walls, and telecommunications spaces. • Terminate cable on patch panels, jacks, blocks, equipment, and other connectivity hardware using accepted industry methods. • Label cabling, hardware, and work areas accurately to support testing, documentation, and future service. • Perform testing, certification, and basic troubleshooting of installed cabling using approved test equipment and procedures. • Assist with the installation of related low voltage systems such as access control, surveillance, wireless, intercom, audio visual and other network-connected devices when required by project scope. • Read and follow blueprints, riser diagrams, one-lines, work orders, and installation instructions. • Maintain jobsite cleanliness, protect customer property, and follow company expectations for professionalism and workmanship. • Communicate material needs, field issues, and project progress to the lead technician or project supervisor. • Complete daily work logs, test results, and other required project documentation accurately and on time What We're Looking For The ideal candidate has working knowledge of structured cabling systems and low voltage infrastructure, including Category cable, fiber optic cable, patch panels, faceplates, cable supports, pathways, telecommunications rooms, and field terminations. Candidates should be comfortable using common low voltage hand tools, drills, labeling tools, and testing equipment while following company standards, manufacturer requirements, and safe jobsite practices. This is a hands-on field position for someone who takes pride in clean, accurate work and can support project schedules in commercial construction, remodel, and occupied facility environments. Required Experience and Qualifications • Experience in low voltage cabling, structured cabling, telecommunications, or related construction work preferred. • Ability to install, terminate, label, and test copper and fiber cabling systems. • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and installation instructions. • Understanding of basic jobsite safety practices and proper tool use. • Strong attention to detail and the ability to complete work accurately and efficiently. • Reliable attendance, strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as required. • Ability to lift at least 55lbs • Ability to work in confined spaces and heights. Preferred Experience and Certifications • BICSI Installer 1, Installer 2 Optical Fiber, or related cabling certification. • OSHA 10 certification. • Experience with Fluke or equivalent cable testing and certification equipment. • Experience in commercial construction, remodel, or occupied facility environments. • Manufacturer certifications related to structured cabling or integrated low voltage systems are a plus.
