Job Summary: The Project Planner is responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring project schedules to ensure successful execution. This role collaborates with project managers, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to track progress, identify potential risks, and ensure project milestones are met on time. The Project Planner plays a key role in optimizing resource allocation and improving project efficiency through data-driven planning and forecasting. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, timelines, and work breakdown structures (WBS). - Coordinate with project managers and teams to ensure alignment on project deliverables and deadlines. - Monitor project progress, identify deviations from the plan, and provide proactive recommendations for corrective actions. - Analyze resource allocation to optimize efficiency and minimize bottlenecks. - Utilize project management software to track schedules, dependencies, and risks. - Prepare and present reports on project status, timelines, and potential impacts to stakeholders. - Support risk management efforts by identifying potential scheduling conflicts and mitigation strategies. - Assist in the development of project planning standards, best practices, and process improvements. - Collaborate with procurement, engineering, finance, and other departments to ensure cohesive project execution. - Facilitate project planning meetings and contribute to project documentation. Qualifications: - Education: Bachelor’s degree in project management, engineering, business administration, or a related field, or combination of experience and education. - Experience: 3+ years in project planning, scheduling, or project management. - Clearance Requirement: *TS/SCI with CI Poly* - Minimum Skills Required: - Strong proficiency in project scheduling and planning techniques. - Experience with project management software such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar tools. - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. - Strong organizational and time management abilities. - Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse teams. - Ability to identify risks and develop mitigation strategies. - Experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously. - Preferred Skills: - Knowledge of industry best practices in project scheduling and resource planning. - Experience with risk assessment and mitigation planning. - Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, or other project management methodologies. - Background in engineering, construction, manufacturing, or a related industry. - Certification in project management (PMP, PRINCE2, or similar) is a plus. Work environment: - This role operates in an office setting with occasional visits to project sites as needed. - May require extended periods of sitting, working at a computer, and attending meetings. - Some travel may be required depending on project locations and stakeholder needs. Work Schedule: This is a full-time position, typically working 40 hours per week.
