**Programs Engineers** This position may sit at an SNC site. **JOB SUMMARY:** Southern Nuclear Operating Company’s corporate Fleet Plant Support Department provides support for the Southern Nuclear Fleet. We are seeking engineers with experience in Inservice Inspection, Flow Accelerated Corrosion, License Renewal/Aging Management, Buried Piping and Tanks, FLEX, Reactor Internals, Welding, and/or Cable Monitoring Programs. These program engineers are responsible for providing technical leadership and guidance in the aforementioned program(s). The successful candidate should have understanding of applicable regulations, codes, and industry standards and experience with program implementation in nuclear power plants. Activities involve ensuring code/regulatory compliance, identifying industry best practices, developing/maintaining fleet procedures, participation in industry working groups, and troubleshooting problems. **JOB REQUIREMENTS:** **Educational/Experience** - Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited college or university, or Professional Engineer license, is required. (Engineering Technology will not be accepted). - Mechanical or Materials Engineering discipline is preferred. Metallurgical, Nuclear, Civil, Chemical, and Electrical Engineering degrees will be considered based upon the candidate’s experience. - A strong technical background in engineering and working knowledge of applicable codes, industry standards, and regulatory requirements related to the applicable programs. - Three (3) years or more of application and experience with programs such as Inservice Inspection, Flow Accelerated Corrosion, License Renewal/Aging Management, Buried Piping and Tanks, FLEX, Reactor Internals, and/or Cable Monitoring Programs is desired. Five (5) years or more of application and experience with applicable programs is preferred. - Proficiency in interpretation of system/component/isometric drawings is preferred. - Nuclear power site station experience is preferred. - Previous experience in systems engineering, programs engineering, or component engineering is preferred. **Experience Preferences** The position will be filled as a level 4 thru 7 depending on the successful candidate’s qualifications and expertise. No promotional level 7s will be rewarded. **Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities** - Ability to solve problems and make sound engineering decisions based on experience and appropriate industry practices. - Ability to communicate technical issues and drive problem resolution through various levels of management at the plant sites and corporate office. - Ability to work effectively across diverse groups at the plant sites and corporate office to drive standard technical solutions to system/component issues. - Strong verbal and written communication skills. - Ability to initiate, coordinate and oversee multiple complex projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. - Ability to adapt to changing demands and priorities. - Ability to use good judgment and make sound engineering and business decisions. - Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with counterparts at each nuclear plant site. - Excellent written and oral communications skills. - Ability to be a team player with emphasis on team contribution. - Self-starter who performs tasks with little supervision or oversight. - Maintain unescorted access to all SNC facilities. **Behavioral Attributes** - Demonstrate Our Values – Safety First, Unquestionable Trust, Superior Performance, and Total Commitment. - Honesty, respect, fairness, and integrity drive behaviors. - Keeps promises and has ethical behavior as a standard. - Dedicated to superior performance and sets high expectations. - Priorities are safety first, teamwork and diversity and continuous improvement through example. - Committed to success of employees, customers, and shareholders. - Self-directed with strong initiative. - Results oriented and custom…
