[**Learn more about Louisiana Department of Health**](https://ldh.la.gov/) **Lead the front line of public health emergency preparedness and response.** As the Region's Public Health Emergency Response Coordinator, you'll play a critical role in protecting Louisiana communities by coordinating emergency response efforts, collaborating with public health and emergency management partners, and responding to natural disasters, disease outbreaks, and other public health threats. This position requires routine statewide duties, including fieldwork, inspections, investigations, or direct services that extend beyond the employee’s domicile parish. These statewide responsibilities are an inherent and ongoing part of the job and may require frequent travel. Six years of experience in developing, managing, or evaluating health or social service programs; or in public health, public relations, social services, health services, health regulation, or administrative services; OR Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus three years of experience in developing, managing, or evaluating health or social service programs; or in public health, public relations, social services, health services, health regulation, or administrative services; OR A bachelor’s degree plus three years of experience in developing, managing, or evaluating health or social service programs; or in public health, public relations, social services, health services, health regulation, or administrative services; OR An advanced degree or a Juris Doctorate plus two years of experience in developing, managing, or evaluating health or social service programs; or in public health, public relations, social services, health services, health regulation, or administrative services. EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION: Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.The official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be found [here.](https://apps01.civilservice.louisiana.gov/onestopjobinfo/DisplayJobSpec.aspx?JobCode=169320)Job Duties: - Supervises regional public health emergency preparedness staff and coordinates planning, training, exercises, and response activities to ensure readiness for public health emergencies and disasters. - Develops, implements, and evaluates regional emergency preparedness plans, including continuity of operations, hazardous materials, infectious disease response, and hurricane preparedness. - Coordinates emergency response activities with healthcare providers, emergency management agencies, law enforcement, local, state, and federal partners, serving in leadership roles within the Incident Command System as needed. - Oversees emergency preparedness resources, including equipment, supplies, budgets, contracts, inventories, and grant-funded projects to maintain regional response capabilities. - Provides technical guidance, education, and training on emergency preparedness, public health threats, and response procedures to internal staff, community partners, and public agencies. - Serves as the primary liaison for regional emergency preparedness initiatives by fostering partnerships, coordinating planning efforts, and communicating public health information before, during, and after emergencies. - Monitors compliance with emergency preparedness requirements, prepares…
