The Assistant performs a wide-variety of administrative duties related to operations, customer service, research and other programming that supports the museum’s mission. The Assistant should be a motivated, positive influence and make decisions for the benefit of the museum within the scope of the mission and the position as assigned. - Required: Associates Degree or a minimum of three years proven experience providing administrative support in office environment. - Must have some knowledge of Osage history, culture, artifacts and art. - Must have proficiency in clerical and computer skills (Microsoft, Excel, databases, etc.) with a broad range of office-related skills and knowledge of computer hardware and software. - Basic knowledge of museum practices and methods preferred but not required. - Ability to work effectively and efficiently without direct supervision. - Requires a high level of problem solving, organizational, time management, multi-tasking, professional writing, and verbal communication skills. - Must be well organized, detail oriented, accurate, punctual, motivated, hard-working, flexible, proactive, and reliable. - Must work well under pressure, with a proven ability to prioritize and multi-task. - Ability to learn quickly and see projects through to completion in a timely fashion. - Ability to draft professional correspondence. - Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. - Must maintain a professional attitude and appearance that positively represents the Nation. - Requires a high level of personal integrity and high ethical standards, and be committed to best professional practices. - Requires the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment to meet organizational goals; ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing. - Must have the ability to perform simple mathematical calculations. - Requires the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with volunteers, assistants, supervisors, other departments/agencies and the public. - Must be able to work occasional evening or weekend hours as needed. - Must be able to pass a criminal background check. - Must be able to pass drug/alcohol testing. - Must have a clean driving record – may be required to drive GSA or tribal vehicles.
