Summary/Objective: The Program Assistant provides direct, hands-on support in delivering services to individuals and families across CAAC programs, including but not limited to Diaper Bank, CSFP, TEFAP, and Senior Transportation. This position is primarily field- and client-facing, focused on distributing resources, supporting program operations in real time, and ensuring accessible, responsive service delivery within the community. The role emphasizes active engagement with clients, partners, and community sites, ensuring that services are delivered efficiently, respectfully, and in alignment with CAAC's mission. Essential Functions: • Distribute program supplies (e.g., diapers, food commodities) directly to clients and partner sites in accordance with program guidelines. • Input and maintain all client Information and data into multiple software and client management resource management systems. • Provide in-person assistance to clients, including intake support, eligibility guidance, and connection to additional resources. • Conduct on-site support at distribution events, partner locations, and community outreach activities. • Transport, load, and unload program supplies to ensure timely and accurate delivery across service locations. • Maintain awareness of inventory levels and communicate supply needs based on real-time distribution activities. • Build and maintain positive relationships with clients and community partners through direct interaction and service delivery. • Support setup, execution, and breakdown of program activities, including mobile or off-site distributions. • Assist in identifying client needs and service gaps through direct interaction and feedback from the field. • Represent CAAC in the community in a professional and mission-driven manner. • Always maintains confidentiality regarding job-related information about children, families, and staff members. • Be courteous, respectful, and professional to clients and staff. • Greet clients and visitors and direct them to the proper department/person or external agency. • Respects and promotes the unique identity of each client, and refrains from stereotyping based on gender, race, ethnicity, culture, religion, or disability. • Other duties as assigned by CAAC Leadership. Competencies: • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to engage diverse populations. • Ability to work independently in community-based and field environments. • Effective verbal communication skills; ability to explain programs and services clearly. • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple service activities. • Cultural competency and sensitivity to the needs of individuals and families experiencing poverty. • Basic proficiency in data entry and use of program software systems. • Ability to adapt to changing environments, schedules, and service needs Work Environment: This position operates primarily in community-based settings, including distribution sites, partner locations, client interaction spaces, and occasional office environments. Work may occur indoors and outdoors and may involve varying conditions depending on program activities Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and/or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 70 pounds. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a part-time, fully-year. The position is 29 hours per week (Monday-Thursday 8am-3:15pm). The days and hours of operation are based on programmatic needs. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
