The Kenneth F. Kahn School of Law at High Point University invites applications for a full-time Professor of Practice position to begin in the Fall 2026 semester. We are seeking an experienced visionary who will embrace the exciting opportunity to design, build, and oversee the law school’s trial advocacy program. The selected candidate will work in a highly collaborative environment that fosters critical analysis, reasoned argument, and the free exchange of ideas and equips students with the doctrinal knowledge, practical skills, and professional values needed for success in a rapidly evolving legal profession. Candidates should possess an entrepreneurial spirit and be well-suited to work in a collegial and student-oriented culture. **Position Description & Responsibilities:** The successful candidate will be responsible for: **Trial Practice Courses:** Teaching the three-credit Trial Practice course to upper-level law students and additional courses related to trial advocacy. **Trial Advocacy Program**: Establishing a trial advocacy program that potentially includes developing a trial advocacy student board as well as teams that will participate in interscholastic competitions. **Trial Advocacy Practicum**: Assisting with the development and implementation of the Trial Advocacy Practicum, a one-credit course required for 2L students. **Qualifications:** - A J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school and excellent academic credentials - Significant practice experience (typically 5+ years preferred) in trial advocacy - Demonstrated interest in teaching and in creating an inspiring, welcoming, and dynamic learning environment for all students - Willingness to contribute actively to the mission, vision, and objectives of the School of Law and the University - Successful completion of the bar exam in at least one U.S. state **Application Process:** To apply, please submit the following materials in a **single** document: - A detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV) - A letter of Interest detailing your practice experience and your vision for the trial advocacy program at the Kahn School of Law - Names and contact information of three professional references Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, so interested individuals are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.
