The position: The Production Planner is responsible to identify, plan, route, manage the path and expedite fabricated parts and assemblies used to produce trailers and trailer components. The Production Planner also has responsibilities related to fabrication, welding, and paint process management such as training, scheduling, direction of parts and assembly processing and working with the ERP system. ## Responsibilities **WHAT YOU’LL DO** • Generate work orders for fabricated components on weekly basis for fab shop using MRP messaging. • Generate work orders for major subassemblies (bogies, rear frames, impact guards, landing gear, etc.). • Generate work orders for PDC, Warranty or R&D components that fall outside of normal MRP messaging process. • Measure and monitor Fab Shop On-Time Delivery (OTD) performance of production part, subassembly, outside processing (primarily HDGV), aftermarket (PDC), Warranty and R&D Orders. • Document defects found during Fab Planning processes into the Lean Supply Chain database and analyze data to understand true problem and put corrective action in place. • Review and monitor integrity of inventory records. • Review any material shortages with both supervision and purchasing to determine how needs will be met either through rescheduling or expediting material. • Work with Engineering and Manufacturing on any BOM or ECN changes that impact both current and future work orders. • Maintain PFEP (Plan for Every Part) Database for production materials used in the plant. • Monitor inventory levels of fab components and subassemblies so that they are in compliance with Supply Chain/Materials Manager Days on Hand (DOH) direction. • Train team leaders and supervision in understanding the JDE system as it pertains to the interaction with and processes of the fab planner. • Other duties as assigned. ## Qualifications **YOUR SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS)** - Education: Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Postsecondary education in procurement, materials planning, and business administration, accounting or related fields is preferred. - Experience: Actual work experience of at least 1 year working in truck trailer manufacturing facility or similar manufacturing environment. Or actual work experience of at least 3 years in a field related to purchasing, inventory control or shipping and receiving. - Skills: - High proficiency with computers: JDE ERP and PS scheduling systems and other company-specific programs, database, spreadsheet, document writing, email, Excel, and Word. - Interpersonal and communication skills - Effective work team management skills including ability to share workload fairly. - Problem solving. - Travel: None **PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS** The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
