***Job summary:*** A production operator oversees and coordinates the production process, including, operating machines, monitoring equipment, maintaining equipment, testing materials, enforcing safety, and packaging. ***Duties/Responsibilities:*** - Responsible for logging in and out of production jobs as required for accurate data collection. - Responsible running production jobs to standard. (Understand how to achieve targeted parts per hour). - Responsible for accurate and timely machine set-ups. (less than 1 hour 45 minutes) - Responsible notifying a team leader whenever two scrap have been run, so they can assist with getting the machine running good parts again. - Responsible for filling out any and all production related forms. Ex: (Operator log, production inspection reports, job traveler and machine set-up sheets) - Responsible for measuring the production parts every hour and documenting the sizes every three hours. - Responsible for understanding and following product specifications and producing a clean product free of any dust or debris. - Responsible for putting away the brooms and shovels when they’re not being used. - Responsible for keeping the assigned work area clean and organized. - Responsible for the assigned tool boxes and the tools in the boxes. (report any missing tools at the beginning of your shift to avoid charges) - Responsible for always putting the first article trays with the production tool when it is pulled out of the production machine - Responsible for putting the blue book in the team leader office when the job is complete. - Responsible for filling out the job traveler, so sheet and finished goods can be easily reconciled. - Responsible for following all ISO related processes for labeling and identification. - Responsible for notifying the material handlers when materials need to be returned to inventory at the end of every production job. - ***Required Skills/Abilities:*** - Have good listening skills. - Able to understand & follow written communications. Ability to write legibly and convey information on the operator log. ***Physical Requirements:*** - Ability to stand, walk, lift, reach, bend, twist, turn, over long periods of time. - Ability to grasp, hold, and maneuver hand power tools - Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly. ***Education/Experience:*** - High School diploma or equivalent. *Vantage Plastics does conduct pre-employment drug screening, however, THC is exempt from screening.* Benefits: - 401(k) with match - Health insurance (medical, dental and vision) - Health savings account - Flex spending account - Life insurance - Paid time off - Tuition reimbursement Schedule: 12.5 hour shift Night shift Day shift
