**Job Summary** While possessing a comprehensive understanding of maintenance and repair principles, the technician will work independently or with others to perform a variety of semiskilled and skilled duties in the areas of hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, metalwork, HVAC, electrical, electronics, control and instrumentation. **Essential Functions** Uses hand tools and basic shop tools to support essential functions. Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on production and facilities equipment and systems (e.g., mechanical, electrical). While using documents, drawings and reference materials, troubleshoots and corrects equipment problems. Performs equipment failure analyses (including preventive and unscheduled maintenance). Complies with established safety, health, environmental policies. Adheres to company policies, guidelines and procedures. Evaluates and recommends equipment improvements to improve efficiency, capability and yield. Documents work performed including preventative and corrective maintenance issues. Assists higher-level technicians as directed. Reports to a supervisor and works under the direction of senior personnel. Will also work under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Requires a high school diploma or GED. Requires 3 years of related experience, or additional specialized training with certification Must have the ability to: occasionally lift 50 pounds unassisted hear and respond quickly to alarms and radio communications walk, stand, sit, bend or kneel to access equipment for repair manual dexterity and coordination to reasonably handle large and small machine parts. normal or corrected vision with good depth perception and no color blindness climb ladders and or use personnel lifting devices to work at heights. work in non-climate controlled areas wear protective gear such as safety shoes, hearing protection, safety glasses, dust mask, etc. Able to work a changing shift schedule and on weekends
