Production Engineer

You will be the project leader in planning, procuring, integrating and installation of production equipment into the Paint areas. - Proactively identify continuous improvement activities within manufacturing to help our Associates work ***safely*** while increasing the ***quality*** of our products. - Engage with stakeholders throughout manufacturing to increase the productivity of operations to deliver Toyota’s customer the best value. - Support organizational initiatives to reduce the environmental impact of our operations while supporting the community within which we live. - Support manufacturing to investigate and eliminate downtime within the assigned area. - Develop a vision and path forward for the area you support which will allow new technology and automation to increase productivity and capacity to meet future sales forecasts. - Facilitate lean manufacturing practices within the Toyota Production System to improve material flow and inventory levels to reduce lead-time and improve safety. - Strive to become the technical expert for the assigned support area, and proactively identify and improve issues before problems occur. - Interact with equipment suppliers and other vendors maintain project timelines. - Highly developed written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interface with all levels of the organization to advance your goals. - Experience with production paint operations including: - Liquid and powder coat paint application and troubleshooting - Knowledge of robotic paint application - Experience working with different (E-stat, HVLP, AAA) paint application methods - Understanding of paint system design and the benefits of different technologies - Basic knowledge of chemical pretreatment systems and chemicals **What We’re Looking For:** - Associate or Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology. (Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial) - 0-5 years of hands on experience in an industrial manufacturing environment - Ability to work and communicate professionally with all levels within the TMH organization - Computer skills, including the ability to prepare thorough, concise reports and justifications - Able to interpret and create 2D and 3D CAD for manufacturing processes and equipment - Experience with technical problem solving - Strong work ethic, intrinsically motivated, ability to organize work and multi-task - Basic understanding of manufacturing methods including welding, cutting, turning, and milling - Ability to show initiative and work within a busy environment with conflicting priorities. - Experience with capital project management from idea to implementation - Strong work ethic, intrinsically motivated, ability to organize work and execute concurrent projects. - Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook. - Use basic measuring tools and methods (scale, caliper, tape, etc.) **Where and When You’ll Work:** - This is an in-person role located at our Columbus, Indiana office—ideal for those who thrive in a hands-on, team-oriented environment. **What Your Total Compensation & Benefits Pa…
