Does driving innovation and creating better experiences through technology inspire you? At Re-Leased, we’re levelling up real estate and helping property professionals thrive in a digital-first world. Our cloud-based property management platform combines smart automation, AI-driven insights, and deep industry expertise to make everyday work simpler and more rewarding. We’re here to help property people run better businesses, build stronger communities, and love what they do. Your Role As Product Manager (Accounting Domain) you will own the "why" and "what" across Re-Leased's accounting capabilities — the features that keep property managers' financials accurate, compliant, and trusted. This is the part of the platform where getting the detail right matters most: reconciliation, trust accounting, ledgers, tax, payments, and ERP integrations all sit on foundations where small errors carry real financial and regulatory consequences for our customers. You will independently drive discovery, delivery, and quality for your product area — running customer interviews, shaping the roadmap for your squads, and making data-informed prioritisation calls. You will pair strong product craft with genuine accounting fluency, translating between how accountants and property managers actually work and what the platform needs to do to serve them. AI-augmented product management is a core part of how we work. You will use AI tools as an everyday teammate — synthesising customer feedback, preparing research, drafting specs, and prototyping to validate assumptions — and are expected to build fluency in context engineering as the wider team develops these practices. This role could be based either in our Napier office or from anywhere in New Zealand. Your Responsibilities Own the roadmap and backlog for two accounting-domain squads, translating customer needs and business priorities into clear, well-sequenced work in Azure DevOps (user stories, acceptance criteria) Deliver features on time and to a high quality bar, with particular rigour given the financial and compliance sensitivity of the domain — proactively identifying and mitigating risks around data accuracy, reconciliation, and regulatory obligations Bring genuine understanding of accounting concepts (ledgers, reconciliation, trust accounting, tax treatment, accruals, financial reporting) to product decisions, and understand how compliance and regulatory context across NZ, AU, UK and US markets shapes accounting requirements Act as the bridge between customers' accounting workflows and the platform, ensuring features reflect how property accountants and finance teams actually work Partner with Engineering and Finance-facing stakeholders to navigate trade-offs where accounting correctness, usability, and delivery risk intersect Conduct customer interviews independently and review product usage data (Pendo and analytics tools) to understand user needs, behaviours, and pain points, and identify patterns across customers/segments to inform roadmap direction Write comprehensive PRDs and specs, and communicate clearly across meetings, 1:1s, and written channels — presenting effectively to squad and stakeholder audiences and leading squad ceremonies with growing independence Use AI tools (e.g. Claude Desktop) as an everyday teammate — synthesising customer feedback into research briefs, drafting and strengthening written communication, reviewing specs for completeness and edge cases, and designing effective context (Claude Projects, multi-tool workflows across ProductBoard/Pendo/Confluence) Use vibe coding tools purposefully to validate ideas and communicate intent, not for production Uphold high quality standards appropriate to a domain where accuracy is non-negotiable Support beta and release activity with clear enablement for support, sales, and customer success teams, and measure/track feature adoption and success post-launch Your Experience Solid experience as a Product Manager in a SaaS or t…
