The Process Sustaining Engineer, Sr will have the responsibility of owning one of the Etch processes and the relevant tool set. The employee will perform daily sustaining activities to improve productivity as well as manage process development, continuous process improvement, yield, and optimization projects to support our production and development groups. The employee in this position will report to the Process Engineering Manager for Etch. Responsibilities: Drive continuous improvement of process capability and process controls. Collaborate with other functions to solve complex problems based upon structured problem-solving methods and make appropriate engineering-based decisions. Work across organization to deliver improved processes and capabilities. Drive overall equipment performance to meet company KPI's. Resolve process excursions and drive permanent Root Cause Corrective Actions (RCCA). Work with minimal supervision, balancing competing priorities, to serve the needs of the factory. The job also requires performing other duties as assigned. Percentages of time spent on job duties are estimates and may vary for each position. Required Qualifications: B.S. or M.S. Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering or Materials Science, Physics, or other relevant engineering discipline Experience with application of structured problem-solving methodology and design of experiments. Experience in JMP and/or any other software to perform statistical analysis. Positive interpersonal skills, highly energetic and self-motivated. Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal as well as the ability to make presentations. Demonstrated ability to meet and execute commitments and deliver results. Ability to manage and execute multiple projects simultaneously and shift priorities to meet business needs. Applicants or College Graduates with less experience could be considered. U.S. Person Required: SkyWater Technology Foundry, Inc. subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All accepted applications must be U.S. Persons as defined by ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. Person as U.S. citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Dry Etch tools from LAM, Applied Materials, or Plasma dry strip tools or wet etch process tools would be a plus. 4+ years of experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in a semiconductor manufacturing environment Experience with Design of Experiments (DOE). Experience with automated fault detection and control systems (FDC). Knowledge of SPC. Experience/ability to solve complex problems pertaining to etch tools/processes and determine the most probable root cause a plus.
