**Envision Imaging Pennsylvania Ave is looking for a PRN Patient Care Technician I to join our team in Fort Worth!** **PRN (As-Needed) | Position Pay Range: $17.80 - $21.45** **Summary/Objective:** The Patient Care Technician I (PCT I) is a role dedicated to ensuring the patient has an exceptional patient care experience while in our center by meeting all patient needs. The PCT I will assist the technologist through smooth patient transitions and continuously engaging with the patient on exam expectations and wait times. The PCT I will assist the patient with any incomplete clinical pre-screening forms or consents and conduct the clinical history interview in preparation for the technologist’s final review. The position will perform clinical screening for XRAY, Mammography, and Bone Density exam patients for technologist review. In addition, the PCT I will contact the referring provider office to obtain updated orders, clarify orders, and determine when a new order is required. The PCT I must ensure patients are notified when prep/exam details have changed prior to the exam’s scheduled date. The PCT I is responsible for requesting and validating the patient’s prior reports and images, and ensuring the clinical review has been conducted in a timely manner, prior to the patient’s exam. Miscellaneous duties include: stocking the changing rooms, tech supplies etc. **Essential Functions** 1. Performs detailed clinical screening of XRAY, Mammography, and Bone Density patients for technologist review. Informs technologist of any contraindicated responses that could interfere with patient safety. 2. Assists patients with securing valuables and changing into proper attire for the examination. 3. Prepares room and non-sterile trays as needed to assist technologists/radiologist. 4. Ensures safety procedures are followed at all times in all security zones of the Center. 5. Supports the technologists in preparing patients for the exam, helping patients on and off the imaging table, and escorting them back to the lobby or suitable waiting area. 6. Assists with the Priors Management Grid (receiving and validating priors). Obtains, imports, and validates prior outside studies. 7. Prepares images and paperwork to be sent for interpretation. Sends images through the PACS system to the appropriate location as needed. 8. Contacts referring provider office to obtain updated order and to clarify orders when needed. 9. Collaborates with the Patient Scheduling Coordinator when there is a change in exam/prep for the scheduled patient. 10. Other duties as assigned. Potentialexposure to radiation, which is minimized by the use of Personal Protective Equipment. Possible exposure to bodily fluids, communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation and other conditions common to a medical office environment. Often requires work in cool, dimly lighted rooms. **Physical Demands** The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
