About the job Location: DMV Area (DC, Maryland, Virginia) The Public Sector Strategy Team is the engine behind Wiz’s explosive growth in the government sector. As our footprint expands, we are seeking a Principal Strategist to serve as the primary executive bridge between Wiz and the Public Sector CISO community. This role isn't about managing configurations; it’s about opening doors, building high-level trust, and architecting the strategic pipeline necessary to maintain our market leadership. Reporting to the World Wide Vice President of Public Sector Sales, you will act as a senior diplomat and "force multiplier" for our sales leadership, ensuring Wiz is the first name government executives think of for cloud security. Responsibilities Act as the strategic lead for "breaking into" new agencies and accounts, leveraging your existing network and executive presence to secure meetings with CISOs and Agency Directors. Partner with Sales Leadership to identify high-value opportunities and design the "long-game" strategy to move them through the funnel via executive sponsorship. Serve as a peer-level advisor to senior government leaders, helping them navigate high-level mandates (e.g., Executive Orders on Cybersecurity, Zero Trust transitions) without getting bogged down in product specs. Represent Wiz at the highest levels of industry discourse—keynoting at major summits and participating in closed-door executive roundtables to position Wiz as the mission-critical standard. Feed market intelligence back to the Product and Strategy teams to ensure our roadmap reflects the evolving procurement and security priorities of the US Government. Cultivate relationships with the leadership of major System Integrators (SIs) and CSPs to create collaborative "win-win" routes to market. Minimum qualifications: U.S. Citizenship. 15+ years of experience navigating the State and Local Government, with a deep Rolodex of contacts and a reputation for integrity. Experience with Public Sector procurement cycles and compliance frameworks (such as FedRAMP, NIST, and CMMC) from a strategic perspective. Ability to travel up to 35% for high-stakes customer meetings and industry events. Preferred qualifications: Proximity to the DMV area (DC, Maryland, Virginia) for face-to-face executive engagement. Proven track record of influencing large-scale enterprise deals with a revenue-driven mindset, understanding that technical vision is only as good as the pipeline it generates.
