In this role, a typical day will include: - Continuously evaluate and adopt emerging technologies, tools, and development methodologies to drive innovation. - Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance enterprise applications with a primary focus on backend services. - Develop and enhance Microservices, APIs, and application components using Java, Spring Boot, and cloud-native technologies. - Deliver high-quality software solutions that align with product roadmaps, business requirements, and architectural standards. - Design and implement integrations, data flows, and interconnected business processes across enterprise platforms. - Ensure application reliability, security, maintainability, and operational excellence through testing, code reviews, and engineering best practices. - Collaborate with Product Owners, Solution Architects, and cross-functional teams to deliver new features and platform enhancements. - Contribute to front-end development using React.js to create responsive and intuitive user experiences, with seamless integration to backend services. - Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues throughout the application lifecycle. - Participate in Agile development activities, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives. - Mentor junior engineers and champion software engineering best practices. **WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:** - Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school+13 yrs;Assoc.+9 yrs; M.S.+4 yrs; PhD+0 yrs) - The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English. - 5 Years of Relevant Experience - 5+ years of experience developing enterprise-grade applications with strong expertise in backend engineering. - Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, and Microservices-based architectures. - Experience building cloud-native solutions using AWS services and modern distributed system design principles. - Proficiency with SQL and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL and DynamoDB. - Experience developing modern web applications using React.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
