Principal Software Development Engineer

This is a fully remote opportunity for an experienced engineering leader who thrives on solving complex technical challenges and influencing long-term technology strategy. ### Accountabilities: - Serve as the technical authority for enterprise financial systems, billing platforms, and data solutions by defining architecture standards, engineering principles, and technology strategies. - Design and oversee scalable, secure, highly available, and resilient distributed systems across enterprise platforms. - Lead architecture reviews, provide technical guidance to engineering teams, and identify solutions to complex technical challenges. - Develop and optimize data ingestion pipelines, high-volume transaction processing systems, pricing engines, and enterprise data platforms. - Guide the development of cloud-native solutions using AWS services, serverless architectures, and modern engineering practices. - Drive platform modernization initiatives across applications, infrastructure, integrations, and data environments. - Champion the adoption of AI technologies, including large language models (LLMs), retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), agentic AI systems, and AI-assisted software development practices. - Partner with data science teams to implement machine learning and advanced analytics solutions that improve business outcomes. - Establish software engineering best practices across architecture, design patterns, testing, security, DevOps, and operational excellence. - Mentor engineers, conduct technical design reviews, and promote a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement. - Improve engineering productivity through automation, low-code solutions, and platform tooling. - Lead incident response activities for critical production issues and drive root-cause analysis and resolution. - Collaborate with executives, business stakeholders, and engineering leaders to align technology investments with strategic objectives. - Translate complex technical concepts into business-focused recommendations and contribute to long-term technology planning. ### Requirements: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field. - 10+ years of professional software engineering experience. - 5+ years of experience providing technical leadership across multiple teams or large-scale technology platforms. - Expert-level experience with Python, C#, and .NET Core. - Deep expertise in software architecture, distributed systems design, and enterprise application development. - Strong experience designing and building cloud-native applications using AWS. - Advanced knowledge of PostgreSQL, Snowflake, SQL optimization, data modeling, and enterprise-scale data solutions. - Experience implementing event-driven architectures, microservices, and modern integration patterns. - Proven ability to lead large-scale modernization, transformation, or platform evolution initiatives. - Hands-on experience with AI technologies su…
