Read more: https://careers.bms.com/working-with-us. **Position Summary** Bristol Myers Squibb is looking for a passionate and motivated laboratory animal veterinarian to join our Veterinary Sciences (VS) team as a **Staff Veterinarian** at our Lawrenceville, NJ (LVL) site. Whether you are early in your lab animal medicine career or looking to deepen your expertise in a dynamic research environment, this is an exciting opportunity to grow alongside a collaborative, highly skilled team. In this role, you will provide high-quality veterinary care for research animals, partner with investigators to support cutting-edge scientific research, and contribute meaningfully to our animal care and use program. You will have the opportunity to develop your skills across a range of responsibilities — from day-to-day clinical care to regulatory compliance — with mentorship and support from experienced colleagues. This position will also include cross-coverage at our nearby New Brunswick, NJ (NBR) site, offering exposure to GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) studies and broadening your professional foundation. You will be joining a welcoming team of 8 veterinarians spread across 5 U.S. sites, all united by a shared commitment to animal welfare, scientific excellence, and regulatory integrity. Candidates with an interest in surgical models and anesthesia are especially encouraged to apply — there is ample opportunity to develop and apply these skills here. **Key Responsibilities** - Provide high-quality clinical care and accurate record keeping for all laboratory animals, including clinical assessment and diagnoses, treatment planning, management of disease outbreaks, and performance of surgery and anesthesia - Serve as a clinical veterinarian at the LVL site, with cross-coverage responsibilities at the NBR site as needed, including veterinary oversight for GLP studies and ensuring compliance with applicable GLP regulations and standards - Direct and evaluate animal health surveillance programs; interpret and apply microbiological, serological, and parasitological data to prevent, diagnose, and treat laboratory animal disease - Collaborate with scientific staff on experimental protocol design and animal model development, building expertise in translational research models - Partner with the VS Global Training Team to implement and deliver training programs for VS staff and research personnel, supporting compliance with all applicable regulations and standards - Support the IACUC through rotational veterinary pre-review of all activities involving animals, post-approval monitoring (PAM), and assessment of research personnel technical competencies - Contribute to internal projects and cross-site committees, with opportunities to take on increasing responsibility over time - Supervise VS staff as assigned, with mentorship provided - Provide veterinary care and oversight for a diverse range of species, including, but not limited to, rodents, canines, rabbits, swine, and nonhuman primates (NHP). **Qualifications & Experience** DVM, or equivalent degree, plus a current license to practice veter…
