Our partner is looking for a Principal Product Designer, Retail based in Canada.** We are seeking a Principal Product Designer to shape the future of retail experiences through innovative, AI-powered product design. This role is designed for a hands-on design leader who thrives on solving complex problems and creating intuitive experiences at scale. You will lead the design vision for emerging intelligent workflows, helping define how users interact with AI-driven products. Working across product, engineering, and business teams, you will influence strategy while remaining deeply involved in execution. You will raise the quality bar across a growing design organization by demonstrating exceptional craft and thoughtful problem solving. This is an opportunity to define new design patterns, explore ambitious concepts, and create products that impact thousands of businesses. ### Accountabilities: As a Principal Product Designer, you will drive high-impact design initiatives from early concepts through launch, balancing strategic vision with detailed execution. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to create scalable, user-centered solutions while helping shape the future of AI-powered commerce experiences. - Define innovative interaction models for AI-powered experiences, including how users communicate with, guide, monitor, and build confidence in intelligent systems. - Own end-to-end product design initiatives, from research and concept development to prototyping, validation, and delivery. - Lead vision-setting exercises and create ambitious prototypes that influence product strategy and future roadmap direction. - Elevate design quality across the organization by contributing directly to complex product challenges and demonstrating strong design practices. - Partner closely with engineering and product teams to explore solutions that balance user needs, technical feasibility, and business goals. - Use AI tools and modern workflows to accelerate exploration, prototyping, and validation while helping teams adopt new ways of working. - Support mobile product strategy through design expertise, research, and hands-on contribution. - Influence senior stakeholders and cross-functional partners through strong storytelling, clear communication, and exceptional design execution. ## Requirements: The ideal candidate is an experienced product designer with a strong portfolio, a strategic mindset, and the ability to deliver exceptional hands-on design work in complex environments. - 12+ years of product design experience with a proven ability to combine strategic thinking with high-quality execution. - A portfolio demonstrating outstanding UX, interaction, and visual design skills, including work on complex products and impactful user experiences. - Experience leading large, ambiguous initiatives across multiple teams and driving measurable outcomes without relying on formal authority. - Strong understanding of AI-powered product design, including practical experience using LLMs and AI prototyping tools in the design process. - Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, with enough technical knowledge to understand constraints and create functional prototypes. - Strong communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence executives, designers, and cross-functional teams. - Exceptional product judgment and a strong sense of design quality, usability, and user experience excellence. - Ability to work effectively in fast-moving environments where new patterns and approaches need to be created. ## Benefits: - Competitive base salary range of **$200,000 – $240,000 CAD** depending on experience, skills, qualifications, and market conditions. - Flexible work environment with remote work options. - Equity options, providing ownership in the company’s success. - Retirement savings contributions and matchi…
