*Baton Rouge Ochsner Discovery Health Sciences Academy (BROD) is a newly authorized Type 2 Charter that is part of the Discovery Schools Charter Management Organization. We are excited to bring Discovery education to the Baton Rouge area through our second corporate partnership with Ochsner Health. The school opened for the 2023-24 school year, starting with grades PreK4 - 4th and will eventually educate students in grades PreK - 8th at full capacity.* **School Principal** - Baton Rouge Ochsner Discovery Health Sciences Academy seeks an experienced Masters level school administrator with expertise in Pre-K-8 th grade curriculum coordination, discipline, school operations, and educational technology. Experience with school start-up, knowledge of annual testing, and LEADS teacher evaluation is preferred. 5 years+ experience. Position available for the 2026 - 2027 school year. Other required selection criteria include the following: - Experience teaching; - Knowledge of the educational needs of the greater Baton Rouge area’s population; - Ability to work with community organizations, agencies and resources; - Motivation to establish innovative and creative learning programs; - Dedication to providing supplementary programs to enhance student learning; - Commitment to implement staff development and training; - Ability to promote a positive school climate; - Commitment to enabling each student to reach his/her personal best. Preferred candidates will have: - Prior experience in a high-performing charter school that serves an at-risk population. - Established professional and community connections in the greater Baton Rouge area - Educational Leader Certification
