- Are you passionate about helping youth build confidence, resilience, and life skills? - Looking to make an impact within your community? - Is your workplace’s commitment to a healthy work culture important to you? **Join DFYF’s team that is inspiring hope, strengthening families, and restoring communities!** **We are seeking a part-time Prevention Specialist at our Afterschool Program.** **What you’ll do:** - Facilitate engaging social-emotional learning activities for youth ages 8–18 - Teach life skills, healthy expression, self-regulation, and positive decision-making - Lead community service-learning projects that encourage leadership and civic engagement - Plan and implement fun, creative, and interactive group activities - Build positive relationships that foster youth growth, resilience, and confidence - Maintain basic documentation and collaborate with program staff to support youth success **Schedule:** Monday - Friday, 3:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. during the school year & 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. during Summer months **Location:** Columbus, Ohio **Qualifications:** - Associate or Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or specialized training - Experience working with youth and facilitating educational or social-emotional learning activities required - Strong engagement, communication, and group facilitation skills - Basic computer and documentation skills - Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation **Who we are:** Directions for Youth & Families offers community-based mental health and prevention services that utilize a resiliency-oriented and trauma-informed framework.
