**THIS IS FOR THE 2026-27 SCHOOL YEAR. PAY IS DEPENDENT UPON YEARS OF EXPERIENCE AND DEGREE AND WHERE IT FALLS WITHIN THE RANGE OF PAY.** **FLSA Classification:** Exempt **Position Type:** 10-month Staff (30 hours) **Reports to:** Director of Preschool **OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION:** Preschool 0-2 Lead Teachers are expected to create an environment that nurtures the social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and spiritual development of the children. This requires providing a warm and loving atmosphere for the children and the parents. The teacher and assistant(s) in each classroom should work together as a team throughout the day to help provide the desired environment. **RESPONSIBILITIES:** - Including, but not limited to, the following: Create and document weekly lesson plans that help promote children's development in accordance with the GELDS. - Lead individual children, small groups, and large groups in educational instruction. - Develop a positive relationship with each child and promote the development of self-esteem and self-discipline. - Review with staff the progress of each child and develop written plans to promote each child's growth and development. - Act as a leading figure in the classroom establishing a positive relationship with the Assistant Teachers and Parents. - Work with Assistant Teachers to plan and implement daily program in accordance with the lesson plan. - Communicate with parents through the monthly newsletter and calendar, Tadpole daily reports, and emails in a timely manner. - Set up and maintain a well-organized and safe classroom environment conducive to the optimal growth and development of children. - Evaluate children and prepare progress reports twice during the school year. - Conduct parent- teacher conferences and document outcomes and plan of action. - Oversee children's care and safety during their time spent in the school facilities. - Observe each child daily to assess skills, interests and needs to facilitate learning and growth. - Maintain a respectful environment with children, parents and staff at school at all times. - Supervise and engage with children on playground areas. - Assist children with daily care activities, as needed (i.e. washing children's hands, diapering, pottying, meals, etc.)Follow cleaning and sanitation procedures. - Administer first aid (Band-Aid, ice packs, etc.) and document accidents - Arrive in classroom at least 5 minutes before scheduled start time - Attend certain school functions as required by the administration (ie. Open House, staff meetings, trainings, etc.) - Arrange for substitute coverage when out for illness or personal reasons. - Support the school with words and actions on and off campus. - Maintain confidentiality in school matters and in regard to students, their families, and coworkers. - Demonstrate patience when interacting with children, parents, and co­workers. - Understand an infant, toddler, and preschooler's social/emotional, cognitive, physical, and spiritual developmental needs. - Participate in training and professional development; goal setting with supervisor - Be evaluated throughout the year through informal and formal classroom observation. - Showing support and high esteem for School at all times. - Attending and participating in faculty meetings and other assigned meetings and activities according to school policy. - Complying with conditions as stated in employee agreement and handbook. - Commitment to St. Benedict's Episcopal School's mission and values. - Performs other duties as assigned by the Head of School or Assistant Head of School or Director of Preschool such as carpool. **QUALIFICATIONS:** - Bachelor's preferred or Degree in Education, Early Childhood Development, or related field, preferred; Associates Degree with a CDA credential will be considered (this level of education must obtain or have a CDA credential). - Ability to effectively communicate with children age three months through age 3.Ability to create…
