Overall Description: Prep Cooks will have a variety of duties and responsibilities to perform every shift in the kitchen. You’ll be assisting the chefs in preparing the food, maintaining a clean and safe cooking environment, and taking on culinary tasks as they arise. This position requires physical endurance as well as a flexible work schedule. Please note: This position will primarily be assigned to the Cold Side; however, operational needs may occasionally require the employee to work on the Hot Side as well. Job Responsibilities: - Follow the prep sheets created by Prep Sheet Creator to plan duties - Label and stock ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible; ensure all food and other items are stored and dated properly - Measure ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking - Prepare ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat, etc. - Undertake basic cooking duties such as reducing sauces, parboiling food, etc. - Prepare simple dishes such as salads, vegetable platters, etc. - Accept or reject ingredients from food suppliers based on their appearance and quality; inform superiors when ingredient stock is getting low or when kitchen tools do not work properly - Clean and sanitize working surfaces, tools, utensils, and working area - Wash prep tables and kitchen floor before closing/leaving for the evening; take trash/recycling/compost to designated receptacle outside - Other duties as assigned Job Type: Full-time Pay: $21.00 - $22.00 per hour Benefits: - Health insurance - Dental Insurance - Vision insurance - 401K matching - Paid PTO - Paid Sick Time - Lunch provided (daily) - ZayZoon - Earned wages-on-demand benefit which allows employees to access earned wages when needed most Experience level: - 1 year Shift: - Evening shift - Morning shift Weekly day range: - Monday through Friday - Weekends as needed Ability to commute: - Lakewood, CO 80214: Reliably commute (required) Experience: - Cooking: 1 year (Preferred) - Food preparation: 1 year (Required) Shift availability: - Day shift - Night shift - Weekend shift Work Location: In person
