- Preps food for resident meals according to daily menu using knowledge of food preparation and presentation and as directed by Sous Chef or Chef - Ensures that foods served are at the correct temperatures - Communicates and interacts effectively and tactfully with residents, visitors, families, peers and supervisors - Provides superior customer service to the residents for whom mealtimes may be the most valued social experience during the day - Accommodates the needs of the residents by making any changes residents request - pleasantly and timely - Possesses knowledge of kitchen safety and sanitation measures - Possesses knowledge of surface safe procedures - Safely operates cooking and cleaning equipment: dishwashers, stoves, steam tables and other equipment - Safely operates hot and cold beverage dispensers - Ensures that frozen, cold and dry foods are stored properly. - Performs daily tasks as set forth by the Culinary Director and cooperates with all staff in **the** best interests of the residents and acts as a team member in all areas Cleans and sanitizes work areas and equipment. - Reports equipment operational problems to Culinary Director - immediately follows all health and safety requirements concerning safety and operation of kitchen equipment - Knowledge of serving techniques, portion control and presentation - Maintains dedicated amount of food items as instructed by Culinary Director - Uniforms must be neat and clean, closed toe shoes are required - Must have basic computer skills - Must be able to perform duties in accordance with the guidelines mandated by Social Services as the licensing agent of this facility - Be of acceptable physical and mental health to carry out assigned duties - Must possess mature judgment skills and be able to respond to emergency situations Provides support in any area that may arise that is above and beyond the normal expectations for this position - Maintains confidentiality about all aspects of residents - Attendance is required during inclement weather - Follows infection control policies & procedures - Follows all policies & procedures of Runk and Pratt - Maintains appropriate & respectful conduct within the workplace - Provides support in any area that may arise that is above and beyond the normal expectations for this position - Graduation from high school or GED - Complete annual in-service training as required - State Police background check that is free from barrier offenses - A current Tuberculosis screening on or within 7 days prior to the first day of employment and free from Tuberculosis - The ability to meet physical requirements for position - Schedules are flexible based on needs of residents - Must have weekend availability, every other weekend & holiday hours required - The ability to pass a drug test
