We are proud to create a workplace where employees can grow, contribute, and be part of something meaningful. **Position Summary** The Prep Cook supports daily kitchen operations by preparing ingredients and food items according to company recipes, production standards, and food safety guidelines. This role is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient work area while ensuring consistency, quality, and safe food handling throughout each shift. **Essential Functions** - Prepare, portion, cut, chop, mix, and cook food according to established recipes and production standards. - Maintain consistent food quality, presentation, and portion control. - Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures at all times. - Clean and sanitize food preparation areas, equipment, utensils, walk-in coolers, freezers, and workstations. - Receive, inspect, unload, and properly store deliveries. - Rotate inventory using First-In, First-Out (FIFO) practices. - Monitor product quality and report shortages, spoilage, or damaged goods to management. - Safely operate commercial kitchen equipment in accordance with training and procedures. - Maintain organized and fully stocked work areas to support kitchen production. - Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and efficient food preparation. - Provide courteous assistance to customers or team members when needed. - Perform other duties as assigned. **Qualifications** - Minimum **one (1) year** of experience in a commercial kitchen, restaurant, grocery kitchen, or similar food preparation environment. - Must be at least 18 years of age due to the operation of commercial kitchen equipment and shift requirements. - California Food Handler Card or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire. - Ability to follow written recipes, instructions, and production schedules. - Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards. - Strong time management, communication, and teamwork skills. - Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with changing priorities. - Reliable attendance and punctuality are required. **Physical Requirements** Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions. - Standing and walking for up to 8 hours per shift. - Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, squatting, and repetitive hand motions. - Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds with assistance when needed. - Work in hot kitchen environments, refrigerated coolers, and freezer areas. - Exposure to wet surfaces and FDA-approved cleaning and sanitizing chemicals. **Compensation & Benefits** Eligible team members may receive: - Weekly pay - Medical, dental, and vision insurance (eligibility required) - 401(k) retirement plan with company match - Paid vacation and California paid sick leave - Employee discount for you and one eligible household family member - Flexible scheduling (based on business needs) - Career growth and advancement opportunities ### Equal Employment Opportunity Statement Frazier Farms Market is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
