The teacher implements curriculum approved by the Lee County School System and Georgia's Pre-K Program (Bright from the Start), creates a safe and engaging learning environment, monitors student progress, collaborates with families and staff, and ensures compliance with all applicable district, state, and program requirements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Plans and delivers developmentally appropriate instruction aligned with the Georgia Early Learning and Development Standards (GELDS), district curriculum, and Georgia's Pre-K Program requirements. Creates and maintains a safe, positive, and engaging classroom environment that promotes student learning, independence, and appropriate social interactions. Designs instructional activities that support physical development, social-emotional development, language and literacy, communication, cognitive development, mathematics, science, social studies, creative development, and approaches to play and learning. Assesses student learning through ongoing observation and approved assessment practices and adjusts instruction to meet individual student needs. Provides differentiated instruction to support students with varying abilities and learning needs, including students receiving specialized services. Maintains accurate student records, documentation, attendance, assessment data, and other records required by the district, Georgia's Pre-K Program, and applicable laws. Establishes and maintains effective classroom management procedures consistent with district policies and school expectations. Communicates regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, classroom activities, and educational needs while encouraging family engagement. Collaborates with administrators, instructional staff, support personnel, and other stakeholders to support student success and program effectiveness. Supervises students at all times during the instructional day, including classroom activities, transitions, meals, recess, transportation, and other school-sponsored activities as assigned. Meets all deadlines and reporting requirements established by the district and Georgia's Pre-K Program. Participates in required professional learning, faculty meetings, collaborative planning, and other assigned meetings. Maintains compliance with all federal and state laws, State Board of Education rules, district policies, and Georgia's Pre-K Program requirements. Demonstrates professionalism, ethical conduct, and continuous professional growth. Additional Duties: Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Pre-K Director, school administrator, or other administrators designated by the Superintendent.
