**POOL TECHNICIAN** Full-time/ Non-Exempt – $20 to $21 hourly DOE **COMMUNITY PROFILE** Sun City Anthem (SCA) is a Del Webb developed community located in Henderson, Nevada, the second largest city in Nevada, with a population of nearly 330,000 residents. Developed in 1998, the beautiful and expansive 55+ active adult community covers 3,500 acres with 7,144 homes. SCA is home to approximately 12,500 total residents. The community is governed by a seven-member Board of Directors who typically serve two-year terms. SCA amenities and facilities include three clubhouses with 130,000 square feet of recreational space including three indoor swimming pools, two outdoor pools, tennis courts, pickle ball, bocce, a 300-seat performing arts theatre, fitness centers, group exercise rooms, privately owned and operated day spa, and a grand ballroom. SCA has nearly 60 chartered clubs and maintains a Community Patrol, a Community Service Committee, a Neighborhood Watch Program, and an Emergency Preparedness Service Committee. **POSITION SUMMARY** This is a full-time, non-exempt position reporting to the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor and/or the Director of Facilities. The Swimming Pool Technician is responsible for maintaining the safe operation, cleanliness, water quality, and preventive maintenance of the Association's pools, spas, and related aquatic equipment. The position supports the Association's commitment to providing a safe, clean, and enjoyable aquatic environment while delivering professional customer service to residents and guests. SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS **SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS** - Current Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification required. - Knowledge of pool and spa water chemistry, filtration systems, pumps, and related aquatic equipment. - Ability to prioritize work, manage time effectively, and complete assignments independently. - Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with residents, guests, vendors, and employees in person, by telephone, email, and handheld radio. - Ability to maintain accurate records and utilize basic computer applications. - Strong customer service, problem-solving, and organizational skills. - Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively under time constraints with minimal supervision. - Ability to work collaboratively with team members and maintain professional working relationships. - Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, on-call assignments, and extended hours as operational needs require. - Valid Nevada driver's license with an acceptable driving record. **ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES** Essential responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following: - Maintain proper water chemistry for all Association pools, spas, water features, and related aquatic facilities in accordance with applicable health codes, manufacturer recommendations, and Association standards. - Perform routine testing, monitoring, documentation, and adjustment of pool and spa water chemistry to ensure safe and compliant operation. - Inspect, clean, vacuum, brush, skim, and maintain pools, spas, decks, tiles, grates, gutters, drains, and surrounding aquatic areas to ensure cleanliness, appearance, and safe operation. - Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs on pumps, motors, filters, heaters, chlorination systems, chemical feed systems, controllers, valves, plumbing, and other aquatic equipment. - Backwash filters, clean strainers, replace filters and equipment components, and perform routine equipment inspections as required. - Assist with the installation, maintenance, repair, and replacement of aquatic equipment, fixtures, and related components. - Safely handle, transport, store, and apply pool treatment chemicals in accordance with OSHA Hazard Communication (HazCom) standards, manufacturer instructions, and Association safety policies. - Monitor aquatic facilities for safety hazards and report unsafe conditi…
