The Planning and Portfolio Management Team provides planning and stewardship of a large portfolio of projects across the Retail organization. We work closely with project managers, leadership and other parts of Apple to craft a strategic, synchronized plan that helps the Retail Organization realize it’s goals. The ideal person will be able to effectively lead a team of planning professionals and balance the needs of multiple stakeholders. You are strategically minded, an excellent communicator, and analytical. ## Responsibilities Lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing team of planning professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, growth, and excellence Own the strategic planning and stewardship of a large, complex portfolio of projects across the Retail organization, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and priorities Proactively identify risks, conflicts, and dependencies across the portfolio before they become blockers — bringing solutions to maximize throughput and business benefit. Drive continuous improvement of planning processes and frameworks, designing systems that are resilient, scalable, and built to flex with ambiguity. Develop and deliver quantitative insights on the health, performance, and progress of the portfolio — enabling data-driven decision making while evolving reporting into forward-looking, predictive portfolio intelligence. Champion a dynamic and adaptive planning approach that keeps pace with the evolving needs of the Retail organization ## Minimum qualifications 7+ years managing large, dynamic project portfolios 3+ years leading a portfolio management, planning or PMO team Experience working with Engineering and technology teams Strong understanding of data analysis, forecasting and reporting methodologies Proven ability to take initiative, foster trust and build strong, productive relationships, with cross-functional teams and partners Experience leading executive level strategic discussions ## Preferred qualifications Experience working effectively in a highly-matrixed organization across timezones Preferred project management professional (PMP) or portfolio management professional (PfMP) certification BA/BS in Business Administration or related field or relevant professional experience
