Our core values are service to our clients, service to our teammates, and service to the community, along with faith, accountability, leadership, and loyalty. ## Job Description The Ward Law Group is seeking a **high-performing Personal Injury Litigation Attorney** to join our New York office. This role is performance-driven and best suited for attorneys who are highly accountable for results. Success in this position is measured by case outcomes, efficiency in case progression, and the ability to maximize client recovery while maintaining strong compliance with litigation timelines and firm standards. **Key Responsibilities** - Full-cycle case handling from pre-litigation through resolution, including trial preparation and support - Conduct early case strategy, liability assessment, and investigation, including notice requirements (e.g., municipal cases) - Manage a high-volume caseload independently with appropriate support staff - Draft and file pleadings, discovery, motions, and legal memoranda - Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts - Prepare for and attend mediations, hearings, and court appearances - Collaborate with experts, including report drafting and case development - Negotiate settlements with insurance carriers and opposing counsel - Prepare cases for trial and actively support or participate in trial litigation - Provide exceptional client service while maintaining consistent communication throughout the case lifecycle **Performance Expectations** - Drive cases toward resolution efficiently while maintaining consistent progress across all litigation stages - Maximize case value through strategic negotiation, mediation, and trial readiness - Maintain strong adherence to litigation timelines, deadlines, and procedural requirements - Actively manage case progression to ensure matters do not stagnate ## Qualifications **Required Qualifications** - Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school - Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus - Active member in good standing with the New York State Bar - 2+ years of plaintiff personal injury experience (auto liability / MVA strongly preferred) - Demonstrated experience handling cases across multiple phases of the lifecycle, including: - Pre-litigation (investigation, notice, liability development) - Litigation (motions, depositions, case strategy) - Trial preparation and/or trial exposure - Proven ability to independently manage a high-volume caseload - Strong writing, negotiation, and oral advocacy skills - Excellent client communication and relationship management **Preferred Qualifications (Bonus)** - Demonstrated first- or second-chair trial experience in New York courts - Proven track record of strong case outcomes, including settlements and/or verdicts - Experience handling cases through trial or near-trial resolution ## Additional Information - **Paid Time Off:** All employees who work 30 hours per week and above qualify for Paid Time Off. You will accrue a total of 4.62 hours per pay period for a total of three (3) weeks per year. - **Health Benefits:** All employees who work 30 hours per week and above will be eligible for benefits starting on the 1st day of the month following their start date. The firm covers a fixed amount which typically covers 40 - 65% of the employee premium, depending on the selected plan.
