Pipefitter/ Brazer

## Description **Job Summary** **The Pipefitter is responsible for brazing copper, brass, and steel materials, assembling refrigeration units based on engineering drawings, and cutting and measuring piping to exact specifications. The role also includes maintaining braze certification and performing work per quality standards.** **Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities** **Tasks may include, but are not limited to the following:** · Braze piping per engineering drawings · Maintain braze certification per quality/ production/ job assignments · Accurately measure and cut piping using tape measure · Maintain housekeeping per 6S · Use appropriate equipment such as saws, benders, and sub-benders as required · All other duties as assigned. **Qualifications: Education, Experience, and Skills** **Required:** · High school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience. · Must be able to pass company brazing certification (40 hours plus written and hands on testing) and consistently braze to customer/ company quality and productivity standards · Preferred previous experience or comparable education/training. **Associated Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities** · Must be able to read, write, accurately read a tape measure, and perform basic mathematical calculations. · Able to work independently to maintain production, efficiency, quality and discipline. · Must use appropriate skills, required equipment, and tools, and accurately read and interpret blueprints. · Must work with minimal supervision and maximum initiative to assure that the job gets done in a timely and effective manner. **Core Job Competencies** **To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following job competencies:** · Cooperation/Teamwork – Works harmoniously and contributes to building a positive team spirit while working with others to get a job done; responds positively to instructions and procedures. · Oral/Written Communication – Expresses oneself clearly in conversation and expresses oneself clearly in writing.
